Eneldalie

Magic tradition for Shadowrun. Have you heard the word of Tolkein?

Eneldalie (Quenya: [people] of the Eldar)
Concept: In the beginning the Valar created Arda and warred with Morgoth for its control. Their servants are the Maiar, spirits of creation who aid the Eneldalie through gifts of magic.
Combat: Beast
Detection: Guidance
Health: Air
Illusion: Water
Manipulation: Task
Drain: Willpower + Charisma
With the Rings of Power destroyed the Valar decided it wisest to maintain for those elves remaining in Middle Earth access to the magics of creation and alliances with the Maiar.
As magic became widespread in the fourth age it became split into different branches based on its usage. Nimgul, or white magic, is the magic of healing. It covers most health spells. Morgul, or black magic, is the magic of destruction. It covers negative health spells, and direct-damage spells such as manabolt or stunball. The magic of illusion is called luingul or mithgul, blue magic or grey magic, depending on the usage of these spells. Celebgul, or silver magic, is the magic of divination. Carnegul, red magic, covers the magic of creation. It covers elemental damage spells as well as most manipulation spells.
An Eneldalie focuses their study on one of the six branches of magic, occasionally dabbling in other branches as well. Leaving one branch to focus on another is difficult as the old focus must be completely abandoned before a new focus may be chosen. This may be accomplished through years of meditation or through an Ordeal.

Character Background: Cynthia

Cynthia was a were-raccoon played in a New World of Darkness game from August 2009 to October 2009. I didn't go nearly as far with this character as I would have liked given that gaming group broke down into petty arguing and childish PvP.

Cynthia was... shall we say on the verge of losing her grip on humanity. She'd picked up a speech issue where she added three more verbs per verb usage than necessary. Her goal in the game was to make the uptight werewolf chase his own tail in frustration.

Shadowrun character concepts

Have you heard the word of Tolkein? You too can live the wisdom of the red book!

---

I used to work at a chocolate factory run by a magician who made magical candies and sweets. Unfortunately his competitors sent one too many shadowrunners in as spies to steal the spirit formulae of his best creations: hot ice cream for cold days, gum that never lost flavor, fizzy drinks that cast Levitate on the drinker to be dispelled upon a powerful enough burp. The magician struck back by shutting down the factory, firing all of us workers, and reopening without us. Rumor has it he uses bound Task spirits. Now I have to shadowrun to make ends meet.

I'm an adept who used to fight for Lone Star. I've learned to use my adept powers on my agility and reaction, allowing me to dodge bullets and target-shoot like no other. I'm a bounty hunter who spends his spare time tinkering with robotics and looking for an apprentice, maybe another phys-adept I know, this teenaged former circus acrobat who heads his own fledgling shadowrunning team. I lost an eye to an angry ex-wife of mine but have not gotten it replaced as it would dampen my powers.
